National Defence Academy / Naval Academy

NDA is one of the most sought after defence entrance exams in the country. NDA recruitment is conducted for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). NDA is conducted twice a year. The exam is conducted two stages: written exam and SSB Interview. Around 4 lakh aspirants sit for NDA every year, out of which approximately 6000 are called for SSB Interview.

 

NDA Eligibility Criteria 2020
Candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria in order to be eligible for the exam.

Educational qualification:

The educational qualification is different for different academies. Candidates can check the educational qualification prescribed for different academies below:

Army Wing of National Defence Academy:

Candidates must have passed Class 12/HSC under 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent from a recognised board or university.

Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy of National Defence Academy:

Candidates must have passed Class 12/HSC under 10+2 pattern of school education with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

NDA Exam Pattern:

Exam Mode and Date: NDA I & II exam will be held on 6th September 2020. Exam will be conducted in Pen and Paper (offline) mode.

Type of Questions: The questions asked in the exam paper will be of objective type.

Total Marks: The written test will be of total 900 marks (Mathematics – 300; General Ability test – 600). SSB Interview will be of 900 marks.

Sections: The written test will be divided into two sections – Mathematics and General Ability test.

Language Medium: The question paper will be available in English as well as Hindi language.

Time Duration: The time duration to complete the paper will be of 5 hours (2½ hours each).

Marking Scheme: 0.33% of the mark assigned to the question will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
